“Disaster on the Tracks: Superfast Passenger Train Derails in Collision with Goods Train Near Ajmer”

A collision between the Sabarmati Superfast Express and a goods train in Rajasthan’s Ajmer resulted in minor injuries to several passengers. The incident took place near the Madar Railway Station at approximately 1.04 am. Despite the loco pilot’s attempt to apply emergency brakes, the collision could not be avoided.

Today, on March 18th at 01.04 am, train 12548, Sabarmati-Agra Cantt, derailed near the home signal at Madar near Ajmer. The engine and four general coaches were affected. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Railway officials promptly responded by reaching the accident site, and the accident relief train has arrived at Madar to begin track restoration work. This information was shared by a senior official of the North Western Railway in a pre-recorded message on microblogging site X.

In addition, he mentioned that a helpline number 0145-2429642 has been issued and a help desk has been established at Ajmer station by the Railways. It is worth noting that earlier this year in January, two coaches of a Bhopal-bound express train derailed in Kota, Rajasthan. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from this incident.
