“Digital Revolution: Bihar Launches E-Measurement Portal for Online Land Measurement Applications”

On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, the Revenue and Land Reforms Department introduced the e-measurement portal for land measurement in Bihar. This new system eliminates the need to visit the zonal office to apply for land measurement. Instead, applicants can conveniently apply from any location by accessing the official website of the department, www.emapi.bihar.gov.in.

Easy to apply for measurement:

Applying for land measurement has been made easy through the registration process on the department’s portal. By doing so, individuals can have their land measured within the specified time limit. Once recommended by the revenue employee, the zonal office will notify the applicant to make the payment for the land measurement fee through online means only. The applicant will then need to provide three possible dates for the measurement and submit them to the Circle Officer’s login.

Same measurement fee in entire Bihar:

It is worth noting that the measurement fee remains the same across the entire state of Bihar. Alok Mehta, the Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms Department, stated that this initiative aims to provide convenience to the general public. If someone requires urgent land measurement, they have the option to expedite the process within a week by paying an additional fee. Brijesh Malhotra, the Additional Chief Secretary of the department, mentioned that many farmers have time constraints, and therefore, they can opt for the measurement by paying a fee of Rs 500 per plot in rural areas and Rs 1000 per plot in urban areas. However, for immediate measurement, the fee is doubled, amounting to Rs 1000 per khesar in rural areas and Rs 2000 per khesar in urban areas. This uniform measurement fee applies throughout Bihar.
