Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is’ severe’ for 5th consecutive day; city schools are shifting classes online !

As Delhi’s air quality remains in the “severe” category, the Delhi government has directed schools to suspend all classes except classes 10 and 12 till November 10 and the odd-even scheme again from November 13-20. Has started.

“This scheme has already been implemented in Delhi. Vehicles with registration numbers ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 will be allowed to drive on odd dates. Environment Minister Gopal Rai said, vehicles with registration numbers ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 will be allowed on even dates.

Rai said further decisions would be taken based on the pollution levels during a week of implementation of the scheme. Rai said at a press conference that the decision was taken in view of the possibility of pollution levels increasing after Diwali.

Forecasts indicate the wind speed could be around 12 km per hour on Tuesday, he said, and if the wind speed improves over the next two days, it is expected that the accumulated pollutants will disperse.

The odd-even plan has been recommended under Phase IV or “Severe Plus” category of the Graded Response Action Plan, which began on Sunday. The scheme was launched by the AAP government in 2016 to tackle vehicular pollution.
