Delhi High Court Delays Decision on Arvind Kejriwal’s Bail; Verdict Expected in 2-3 Days !

The trial court’s decision to grant bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case has been temporarily halted by the Delhi High Court. As a result, Kejriwal will remain in Tihar jail for the time being. The High Court is expected to announce its final verdict on June 25, as Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain has reserved the order for two to three days. The interim stay was issued after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) challenged the trial court’s order.

This development occurred just hours before Kejriwal was set to be released from jail. During the hearing, the Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, representing the ED, argued that the trial court’s decision was “perverse” and went against the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Raju also claimed that he was not given a fair opportunity to present his case in the trial court. He further questioned the trial court’s order by highlighting the evidence presented by the ED, which showed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had used illicit funds during the Goa Assembly elections and had traced Rs 45 crore.
