One soldier lost his life during a clash with terrorists in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, as per an official statement.
The exchange of fire began in Modergam village of Kulgam district after security forces initiated a search operation following intelligence reports. The security forces have managed to trap at least two to three terrorists in their hideout.
The Kashmir Zone Police reported on microblogging site X that a gunfight had begun in Modergam Village of #Kulgam District. Police and Security Forces were actively engaged in the operation, and additional information would be provided as it became available.
At the time of this report, the encounter was still ongoing, and more details were anticipated.
In a separate incident last month, two senior commanders from The Resistance Front, a group linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, were cornered in a residence they were using as a hideout during a confrontation with security forces in Pulwama district.
