CM Nitish Inaugurates Speedy Marine Drive Extension: Explore Digha to Kangan Ghat in Captivating Photos !

The Marine Drive constructed along the Ganges in Patna remains a popular destination for visitors, offering both tranquility and relief from traffic congestion. The recent inauguration of the third phase of the Marine Drive, known as the Ganga Path Way from Gaighat to Kagan Ghat, by CM Nitish Kumar has further enhanced the experience for visitors. This development now allows people to enjoy a smooth drive from JP Setu Digha to Kagan Ghat.

Today, the general public gained access to the road from Gaighat to Kangan Ghat, marking the official opening of this section under the third phase of the Ganga Path Way project. The ongoing construction of a 20.5 km road from Digha to Didarganj includes the completed stretch from Digha Ghat to Kangan Ghat, which is now operational for public use, facilitating smooth vehicular movement.

The journey along Marine Drive, situated along the banks of the Ganga River, is enhanced by the passing waves of the river, creating a more scenic and delightful experience. The construction of Marine Drive has significantly alleviated the issue of heavy traffic congestion previously encountered when traveling to Patna City.

Marine Drive’s construction has made traveling from Boring Road, Gandhi Maidan, Didarganj, Gurudwara to Patna City and Gulzar Bagh much easier. In the future, traveling from Fatuha and beyond will be extremely convenient, with minimal traffic congestion.

Up to now, three stages of JP Ganga Path have been finished. The completion of this project has facilitated the transportation of critically ill patients traveling from areas outside Patna, particularly from North Bihar, to reach PMCH.

CM Nitish Kumar unveiled the initial stage from Digha to PMCH on June 24, 2022. Following this, the subsequent stage was revealed from PMCH to Gaighat on August 14, 2023. Presently, the construction work from Gaighat to Kangan Ghat has been finished as part of the third phase. As a result, the movement of people and vehicles has commenced on the route, making it more convenient for individuals traveling to and from Sonpur and Hajipur.

The Marine Drive path along the Ganga river has 12.5 km of road operational from Digha to Gaighat. Moving on to the third phase, the construction of approximately 17 km of JP Ganga Path from Gaighat to Kangan Ghat has been finished. The development of JP Path commenced in 2013 with plans to link it to the six-lane bridge under construction from Kachchi Dargah to Bidupur. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 6000 crore.
