ChatGPT Launches Advanced Voice Mode for macOS and Desktop Users !

ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode is now available for desktop and macOS users, allowing you to communicate with the AI by speaking without typing! This new functionality, which was previously exclusive to Plus and Teams members on mobile devices, enables you to voice-instruct ChatGPT and hear its response in a lifelike, nearly human tone. Additionally, it has improved its ability to comprehend various dialects, which facilitates faster and more seamless interactions. You must download the most recent version of Advanced Voice in order to use it on a desktop.

Advanced Voice Mode: What Is It?

Beyond voice recognition, Advanced Voice Mode provides an enhanced vocal interaction that sounds natural and can modulate tone, express emotions, and even highlight specific words for a more realistic feel. In addition to Breeze, Juniper, Cove, and Ember, OpenAI has added five more voices to ChatGPT: Arbor, Maple, Sol, Spruce, and Vale. These new choices, which join the expanding collection of voice profiles that give AI discussions a more intimate feel, are intended to produce an interesting, more organic dialogue. OpenAI’s goal of creating natural, pleasant, and familiar encounters is reflected in the speech selections, which draw inspiration from nature.

Users only need to activate the speech function in the ChatGPT app in order to utilize Advanced speech Mode on the desktop. Once enabled, users can speak to ChatGPT by using voice input, to which the AI will react vocally. Additionally, Advanced speech Mode offers visual updates that make interactions more interactive by substituting a dynamic blue sphere that reacts in real-time for the static black dots utilized during speech interactions.

A wider range of customizing choices includes this new voice feature. With “Custom Instructions,” users can customize ChatGPT’s responses to suit their needs or tastes. Furthermore, ChatGPT’s Memory function enables it to retain user interactions between sessions, which over time makes responses feel more personalized as the AI remembers earlier exchanges to increase relevance.

Additionally, Advanced Voice Mode has become more adept at identifying a variety of accents, which helps to minimize miscommunications and provide more rapid, fluid responses. It’s important to note, though, that the much-discussed “Sky” voice—once criticized for sounding like Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson—is not included in this version due to legal action.
