“Bihar Cabinet Meeting: Electric Vehicle Purchases Get Exemptions, Tax Relief; Approves 23 Agendas.”

The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chaired the Bihar Cabinet meeting on Tuesday at the Chief Secretariat’s cabinet classroom. During the meeting held on the 23rd, the agenda was approved. In addition to the Bihar Zilla Parishad Rules 2023, the Nitish Cabinet also gave its approval to the Bihar Secretariat Service Rules 2030. Furthermore, arrangements will be made for 400 electric buses in six major cities of Bihar, namely Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, and Purnia. The e-bus service scheme also received approval for the public transport scheme, with the Centre contributing 60 percent and the state contributing 100 percent.

An electric vehicle purchase in Bihar will grant you a discount of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. Additionally, two-wheelers will receive a 50 percent tax relief. The first ten thousand vehicles will be eligible for a subsidy of Rs 5,000, while SC category beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of Rs 7,500. The first ten thousand vehicles will also enjoy a 75 percent tax rebate. Three-wheeler passenger vehicles and goods vehicles will receive a 50 percent tax exemption. Four-wheelers can avail a maximum subsidy of Rs 1.50 lakh. The first ten thousand vehicles will also benefit from a 75 percent tax relief. Furthermore, the government will establish charging stations in government institutions.

In order to promote Kabaddi in Bihar, the Bihar Sports Authority of India, under Bihar Finance Rules, has approved the sponsorship of the Patna Pirates team. The Cabinet has also granted approval for the expansion of 33 posts in various categories at the Dashrath Manjhi Institute of Labor Planning Studies. Additionally, the Bihar Dental Services Rules 2030 have been approved. IIT Patna has provided administrative approval of Rs 122 crore 86 lakh for the establishment of a Center of Excellence in 33 government polytechnic institutes, as part of the Self-reliant Bihar Seven Nishchay Do scheme.

Furthermore, the state government has made a significant decision regarding the vehicles of boards, corporations, and other offices. All government vehicles older than 15 years belonging to these institutions will be scrapped, as approved by BHIM. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been unable to attend any programs for the past week due to health reasons. However, after his health improved, he attended the cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
