“Big Changes Expected for Patna University This Year”

Patna University (PU) is set to witness significant infrastructural upgrades soon. The construction of two separate G+9 hostels for girls, along with academic and administrative complexes, is nearing completion. This initiative, backed by a funding of Rs 163 crore, also includes plans for a four-storied staff quarter and a G+7 science block.

Moreover, a substantial development project is underway at PU’s south campus, adjacent to the upcoming science city. This transformative endeavor is estimated to cost around Rs 750 crore. Additionally, PU is gearing up to introduce a postgraduate program in forensic science by the year 2024.

Recently completed, an international hostel boasting a G+3 structure is on the verge of opening its doors this year. Spanning across 15,742 sq ft of land, this hostel specifically caters to overseas scholars and offers 24 well-appointed rooms equipped with modern conveniences such as air conditioning, attached bathrooms, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Additionally, a development initiative has been initiated for Patna University’s south campus, situated adjacent to the upcoming science city, with an estimated budget of Rs 750 crore. This endeavor aims to construct an ample number of residences for faculty and staff members, along with student hostels, catering to the accommodation needs of everyone on campus.

On the academic front, the recently established PU Incubation Hub holds promise in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship among the university’s talented student body. Moreover, the newly erected Central Instrumentation Facility Centre (CIFC) at the university’s primary campus will house essential instruments like UV-visible spectrophotometers, FTIR spectrophotometers, NMR spectrometers, X-ray Diffraction (XRD) facilities, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). These state-of-the-art facilities aim to drive advanced research in physical sciences, as highlighted by Anil Kumar, the dean overseeing PU students’ welfare.
