RJD leader and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, along with his sons Tejashwi and Tej Pratap Yadav, were granted bail by a Delhi court on Monday in the land-for-jobs case.
They were given bail on bonds of Rs 1 lakh apiece by Special Judge Vishal Gogne, who also pointed out that they hadn’t been detained while the case was being investigated, according to news agency PTI.
The accused was served with a summons based on an additional chargesheet against them, and they later appeared before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) submitted the final report to the court on August 6.
The three accused were also ordered by the court to turn in their passports. The following hearing was rescheduled for October 25.
Former union railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was accused of hiring people for Group-D positions in the West Central Zone of the railways, which is based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on the condition that they gift or transfer parcels of land in his name, the name of his family, or the names of associates. Yadav served in that capacity from 2004 to 2009.
