New Delhi: On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high-ranking officials, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, visited the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial in New Delhi to pay their respects on the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
In addition to the Prime Minister, President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar were also present at the memorial.
Prominent leaders such as Former President Ram Nath Kovind, BJP National President JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, and others paid their tributes by offering flowers on this occasion.
To commemorate the 99th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Bharatiya Janata Party is organizing various events across the country on Monday, which is celebrated as Good Governance Day.
Earlier, BJP National President JP Nadda urged party officials and state presidents nationwide to pay homage to Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s portrait at all booths and discuss the remarkable personality and achievements of the former Prime Minister.
In every district, there will be discussions on the initiatives and accomplishments of the Central Government, as well as the BJP-ruled state governments, with a focus on good governance for the welfare of the underprivileged.
Meanwhile, an ongoing campaign on the Namo App aims to inspire individuals to become ambassadors of ‘Developed India’ and motivate others to do the same, in order to select a “Developed India Brand Ambassador.”
The objective of Good Governance Day is to enhance public access to various government programs and services through effective governance. This day is celebrated to ensure that the citizens of the country are treated equitably by the government and receive the benefits of various government services.
Vajpayee, who was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, served as the nation’s Prime Minister for three terms.
