Arvind Kejriwal again failed to appear before the probe agency despite being summoned for the fifth time !

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has decided not to attend the Enforcement Directorate today, choosing to disregard the fifth summons from the central agency in relation to the liquor policy case. The Aam Admi Party (AAP) has expressed their belief that these repeated summonses are merely attempts to apprehend him.

Following his failure to appear for the previous four summonses issued by the agency over the course of the last four months, the Enforcement Directorate has now issued a fresh summons to the AAP leader. Despite this, the Delhi Chief Minister continues to assert that these summonses are “illegal”.

The party has labeled these summonses as part of “Modi ji’s aim to arrest Kejriwal” and has further accused the Prime Minister of wanting to destabilize the Delhi government by apprehending him.

AAP stated that they will ensure that such an occurrence never takes place again, as per their official statement.

Kejriwal failed to attend the summonses issued by the Enforcement Directorate on November 2 and December 21, 2023, as well as on January 3 and January 18 of this year.

As per the findings of the Enforcement Directorate, the excise policy of the Delhi government for 2021-22, which granted licenses to liquor traders, promoted cartelization and showed favoritism towards specific dealers who were suspected of paying bribes for it.

AAP-BJP PROTESTS IN DELHI

Today, both the AAP and BJP have organized protests in the national capital. In order to ensure the safety and security of the demonstrations, additional personnel have been deployed in Central Delhi.

The AAP has decided to stage their protest outside the BJP headquarters, focusing on the alleged cheating in the Chandigarh mayoral polls. Notably, Kejriwal, along with Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, is expected to participate in this protest.

On the other hand, the BJP has announced that their members will be protesting near the AAP head office, highlighting the “corruption” of the Arvind Kejriwal government.
