Terrifying information on the experience of an Army officer and his fiancée, who were allegedly sexually abused at the Bharatpur police station in Bhubaneswar, has surfaced. On September 14, while they were traveling back to Bhubaneswar to submit a complaint against miscreants who had delayed them, the incident took place.
The Orissa High Court on Thursday granted bail to the woman, who was also detained by the police, citing the seriousness of the accusations. The woman told the media about her terrifying encounter, claiming that she was kicked on her chest several times before a police inspector attacked and allegedly flashed her.
Odisha Police suspended five personnel, including the inspector in charge of the Bharatpur Police Station, after the incident caused widespread indignation.

September 14: Midnight
For an Army officer and his fiancée, a quiet evening on their way home to Bhubaneswar became a nightmare. Unidentified goons suddenly started chasing the couple. They ran to the closest police station out of fear for their lives.
September 15: 1 am
The pair arrived at the police station to lodge a complaint, panting and shaking. But they had no idea that the worst was still to come.
September 15: Between 1.30-3 am
The pair claimed, in a horrifying turn of events, that the cops had physically assaulted them. The woman said that she had been physically and sexually tormented in addition to being naked.
She said that her own jacket had bound her hands and wrapped her legs with a scarf. A police inspector allegedly raped and flashed her after dragging her through the corridors by her hair.
The woman reportedly bit one of the policemen in an effort to defend herself. After that, she was taken into custody by police. The Army officer, meanwhile, was placed in a cell, rendering him defenseless and unable to step in.
September 16
The Army alerted the Odisha government to the occurrence as soon as it was discovered.
September 17
The administration sent the matter to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) in response to the growing public outcry and pressure. A high-level inquiry was launched in recognition of the seriousness of the assault and the police malfeasance.
September 18
Five police officers were involved in the assault; they were reassigned and then suspended as the inquiry progressed. The woman who was falsely accused and detained by the police was also granted bail by the Odisha High Court.

After enduring physical and psychological hardship, the woman was eventually freed from detention. She told the media about her terrifying experience after being freed. She sustained multiple injuries, one of which was a jaw dislocation.

Following the Army officer’s formal complaint, a formal police report (FIR) was filed against the five police officers.
