Anthropic Launches Corporate Chatbot in Pursuit of Business Revenue

Anthropic, a startup specializing in artificial intelligence, has introduced its latest chatbot technology tailored for businesses. The San Francisco-based company, supported by tech giants Alphabet and Amazon.com, unveiled its Claude 3 AI models in March, boasting superior performance compared to competitors like OpenAI and Google.

This week, Anthropic launched an app for Apple’s iPhones, offering Claude 3 to businesses at a subscription rate of $30 per user per month, with a minimum of 5 users per plan. This move intensifies competition with OpenAI, which also offers a business plan at a similar rate. However, Anthropic’s foray into enterprise technology may also pit it against its backers Google and Amazon, who are also vying for a share of the corporate AI market.

Claude 3’s standout feature is its ability to process large volumes of data—equivalent to the content of two books—and provide accurate summaries, analyses, or extract specific information. Anthropic highlights its versatility, citing applications for finance teams generating investment reports, engineering teams managing extensive codebases, or sales teams strategizing to secure major clients.

Daniela Amodei, Anthropic’s president, emphasizes Claude’s proficiency in handling both structured and unstructured data. Users can upload diverse content formats, such as charts, PDF documents, or Slack conversations, and instruct Claude to summarize key insights or highlights. This capability enables efficient data synthesis for tasks like analyzing product launches or earnings reports.
