Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently in the UAE, is scheduled to deliver a speech at the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event taking place at Zayed Sports City Stadium on Tuesday. It is expected that more than 2,500 individuals will participate in comprehensive ground rehearsals and receive briefings as volunteers. Nishi Singh, the head of communications for Ahlan Modi, expressed that the inclement weather has not dampened the enthusiasm of Indians in the UAE.

Despite heavy rains, over two and a half thousand individuals attended the full-ground rehearsals for the cultural program and volunteered for briefings. Singh further emphasized that the weather will not hinder the unique community-driven summit, which aims to celebrate the friendship between India and the UAE in a grand manner and extend a resounding welcome to the Prime Minister.

Here’s all you need to know:

The ‘Ahlan Modi’ event experienced an immense level of excitement from the Indian diaspora, leading the organizers to close registrations last week due to the overwhelming response of over 65,000 attendees.

In accordance with the directives of the UAE, the number of participants on February 13th will be restricted based on the seating capacity of the stadium. Singh stated, “In compliance with the instructions of the UAE authorities, the number of attendees on the 13th at Ahlan Modi will be limited to the seating capacity of Zayed Sports City Stadium, taking into consideration realistic traffic and parking management as attendees are traveling to Abu Dhabi from all seven Emirates.

” The Indian expatriate community, which consists of approximately 3.5 million individuals, is the largest ethnic community in the UAE, accounting for around 35 percent of the country’s population. The event will showcase India’s diverse cultural heritage through an exhibition featuring more than 700 artists. Additionally, over 150 Indian community groups will actively participate, with a focus on regional diversity and the integration of thousands of blue-collar workers from various emirates.

The Indian community’s solidarity and anticipation have been truly remarkable, particularly the ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power), who have shown overwhelming support and enthusiasm. They have registered in significant numbers and are actively promoting the event, embodying the values of women’s empowerment, communal harmony, and participation, as highlighted by the organizing committee.

PM Modi is scheduled to embark on a two-day official visit to the UAE, commencing today. This visit marks his seventh trip to the UAE since 2015 and his third visit in the past eight months. Throughout his stay, PM Modi will engage in bilateral discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The primary focus of these meetings will be to explore avenues for enhancing, broadening, and fortifying the strategic alliance between the two nations. Additionally, both leaders will exchange perspectives on matters of shared concern at regional and international levels.
