The chat window in WhatsApp might soon display your status !

The chat window on WhatsApp might undergo a change in the near future. Currently, when engaging in a conversation with someone, you can view their name and Last Seen (if enabled) just below it. However, there are reports suggesting that WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will display both the Last Seen and the status of a person right below their name. This feature is expected to be included in the next update of WhatsApp for Android and it remains uncertain whether a similar feature will be developed for iOS devices.

As per WABetaInfo, the most recent edition of WhatsApp beta for Android (v2.23.25.11) exhibits a user’s status and last seen (if enabled) beneath their contact name within an active chat window. Once you acquire access to this new feature, your chat window will appear as follows: In the provided screenshot, you can observe that if the other person is offline, their status will be visible below their name. Alternatively, if they have activated this feature, their last viewed time will be showcased. However, this information will only be visible if they have enabled it in their WhatsApp privacy settings.
