Air India Express News: Flight for Dubai-Jaipur Makes Emergency Landing After Bomb Threat !

Following a bomb threat that was ultimately determined to be a fake, officials stated that an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Jaipur had to make an emergency landing early on Saturday morning, according to PTI.

Following the emergency alert, the aircraft, carrying 189 passengers, safely landed at Jaipur International Airport at 1:20 AM. The airport authorities received a bomb threat and promptly proclaimed a state of emergency. According to an official, a thorough investigation of the aircraft turned up nothing unusual.

This incident is the most recent in a concerning string of bomb threats that airlines that fly both domestic and international routes have been receiving. This week, there have been more than 20 flight disruptions, which have resulted to increased security, postponed flights, and diversions. Security forces are on high alert because all threats received thus far have been false, frequently via social media.
The origin of the bomb threat is presently being looked into by the police.
According to MoCA insiders, who spoke to ANI, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) is now holding talks with other pertinent ministries to amend current legislation. The goal is to make false bomb threats on aircraft punishable by more severe consequences.

A senior MoCA official stated on Friday that those who pose such a threat will be placed on a no-fly list.

According to the ANI report, the official added that a committee comprising the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Law Ministry will be formed to make revisions to the 1937 Aircraft Rules, the 1934 Aircraft Act, and other relevant rules. These modifications will impose a five-year jail sentence and a ban from flying for making false bomb threats that target aircraft.
