Paris Olympics Day 5: Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, and Indian Contingent Set to Shine

After a significant day for India in shooting, the spotlight will now be on the badminton players, specifically Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu. The Indian shooters will also strive to advance to the medal round on Wednesday, July 31. Boxing stars are scheduled to compete at the Paris Olympics today, and the table tennis team will have two of their top female players participating as well. Let’s take a closer look at the top athletes aiming to make India proud.

Lakshya Sen

Lakshya Sen faces a critical match at the Paris Olympics, where the outcome is make or break. The stakes are exceptionally high as the talented young player goes up against Jonatan Christie, in what could be considered his most challenging match of the tournament. Only a victory will suffice, and should he succeed on Wednesday, he may potentially compete against HS Prannoy in the following round.

PV Sindhu

PV Sindhu is striving for a third consecutive Olympic medal and she will be looking to maintain her momentum as she takes on Kuuba Kristin on Wednesday. She will be the one to kick off the badminton team’s campaign on Day 5.

Manika Batra

Manika Batra made history by becoming the first Indian table tennis player to advance to the pre-quarters at the Paris Olympics 2024. She has been in excellent form lately, and her goal is to secure a spot in the quarterfinals and extend her remarkable performance.

Deepika Kumari

Deepika Kumari is set on proving herself after the lackluster performance of the archery team. Despite facing harsh criticism from fans on social media, the Indian archer is focused on securing a spot in the round of 16 without any complications on Wednesday.

Lovlina Borgohain

The bronze medalist from the Tokyo Olympics may face a challenging matchup, yet she is determined to secure her advancement to the next round as she competes against Sunniva Hofstad on Wednesday.
