The BJP leaders urge party members to commence preparations for the Assembly byelection and 2027 polls without delay.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, acknowledged that the BJP’s overconfidence prevented them from achieving the desired success in the 2024 Lok Sabha election in the state. However, he expressed optimism about the ruling party’s victory in the 2027 Assembly polls. He attributed the BJP’s success in previous elections to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and emphasized the need to maintain pressure on the Opposition for future victories.
The Chief Minister cautioned against the Opposition’s attempts to create divisions based on caste before the Lok Sabha elections. He emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing social media platforms and urged party leaders and workers to remain vigilant.
The inaugural meeting of the working committee, following the announcement of the parliamentary election outcomes, was graced by the presence of J.P. Nadda, the national president of the BJP, along with various Union and State Ministers, Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, Members of Legislative Council, Lok Sabha contenders, and leaders at the block level.
The BJP’s results in Uttar Pradesh during the Lok Sabha election dealt a significant blow to the party’s aspirations of reaching the majority mark (272) in Parliament. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) only secured 36 seats – with BJP winning 33, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) obtaining two, and Apna Dal (Sonelal) securing one. This was a decrease of 29 seats from their 2019 victory of 62 Lok Sabha seats in the State, and a decrease of 38 seats from their 2014 victory of 71 seats.

He pointed out that in 13 States, the Congress failed to secure a single seat, and in States like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh, where the Congress directly competed with the BJP on 64 seats, they only managed to win two seats, while the BJP secured 62.
Mr. Nadda criticized the Congress for disregarding the Constitution and democratic principles. He emphasized that the BJP’s commitment to the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” is unwavering, and highlighted the party’s strength in developing dedicated workers into leaders. State BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, also spoke at the event.
