Anant Ambani, the youngest son of billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, were united in marriage during a lavish ceremony at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai last Friday.
The extravagant event, dubbed the ‘wedding of the decade’, was a fusion of luxury, tradition, and star-studded glamour, with prominent figures from around the world, Bollywood celebrities, and political dignitaries in attendance.
Renowned personalities such as US television star Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloe, Nigerian rapper Rema, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, as well as esteemed business magnates like Saudi Aramco CEO Amin Nasser, Samsung Electronics chairman Jay Lee, and GSK plc chief executive Emma Walmsley graced the occasion with their presence.
The majority of the top-tier Bollywood actors graced the occasion, with notable names such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Tiger Shroff, and Varun Dhawan, many of whom were accompanied by their families. Additionally, prominent southern superstars Rajinikanth, Ram Charan, and Mahesh Babu spearheaded the southern representation.
Moreover, the event drew in a plethora of Indian cricketers, ranging from cricketing legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni to former star Krish Srikkanth and current sensations Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav.
The wedding celebrations for Nita and Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son began with a private puja ceremony at their Mumbai residence, Antilia, on June 29. This was followed by a series of pre-wedding customs such as the ‘mameru’ ceremony, sangeet, haldi, and mehendi.
Prior to their wedding, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant organized two pre-wedding events: a luxurious cruise party from Italy to France from May 29 to June 1, and an extravagant pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar in March, which was attended by 1,000 guests including celebrities, athletes, and business tycoons.
