“BMW Hit-and-Run Accused Mihir Shah to Cops: ‘My Career is Over,’ Say Sources”

Mihir Shah, the suspect in the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case, admitted to authorities that his professional life was effectively over after the incident and confessed to the crime. Reports indicate that he had consumed alcohol at two different bars prior to the event.

On July 7, Mihir Shah collided with a two-wheeler in Worli, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old woman who was a passenger. He was apprehended on Tuesday after evading capture for nearly three days.
According to the ongoing investigation, Mihir Shah had consumed a significant amount of alcohol on the day of the BMW accident. Sources state that he had been drinking at a bar in Juhu where he was socializing with friends before the incident.

He then proceeded to drink at another bar situated between Borivali and Malad. Subsequently, he informed the BMW driver Rajrishi Bidawat that he would take the wheel of the luxury vehicle, as per reports.

Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) leader Rajesh Shah, was enjoying a leisurely drive on Marine Drive on the day of the incident.

Last evening, both Mihir Shah and the BMW driver were brought to Worli by law enforcement to recreate the scene of the crime.

Sources mentioned that the police were in the process of verifying the statements provided by both suspects and were not entirely convinced by them.

Upon reaching the Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk, Mihir Shah was requested by other drivers to halt the vehicle, however, he disregarded their pleas and proceeded to drive, as per the official’s statement. The authorities plan to arrange a confrontation between Bidawat and Mihir Shah in order to gather more details regarding the accident and to understand the complete chain of events, as mentioned by the official.

In an attempt to conceal his identity, Mihir Shah reportedly shaved his beard and trimmed his hair, with efforts underway to determine if he received assistance in altering his appearance.

The 24-year-old suspect, currently in police custody until July 16, has asserted that he possesses a valid driving license, although the document has yet to be located, the official confirmed. Rajesh Shah, Mihir Shah’s father and a Shiv Sena member from the neighboring Palghar district, is also implicated in the case and is presently out on bail.
