Metro Expansion in Bihar: 4 More Districts to Get Metro Services – Full List Inside; Enhanced Convenience for Passengers !

The State Bureau in Patna has announced that the metro train operations will soon expand beyond Patna city. In the near future, residents of Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, and Bhagalpur will also be able to avail metro services. This significant development was approved in principle during the state cabinet meeting, which was presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A total of 22 proposals were given the green light during the meeting held on Thursday.

S Siddharth, the Additional Chief Secretary, provided details:

Following the cabinet meeting, S Siddharth, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet, announced that a feasibility report will be drafted initially to facilitate the operation of the metro in Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, and Bhagalpur. Subsequently, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared.

He further stated that the cabinet has decided to empower all state examination commissions to conduct online examinations. Previously, the BPSC, Staff Selection, and Technical Education Commission conducted offline examinations. The examination process will consist of two stages, with the main examination taking place in or around Patna.

The creation of 140 positions for the Bihar Higher Judicial Service has been approved:

CM Nitish Kumar simultaneously approved the Bihar Civil Court Officer and Employee Appointment Promotion Transfer and Other Service Amendment Rules 2024. Additionally, the Bihar Driver Recruitment and Service Condition Amendment Rules 2024 were also given the green light. In terms of employment opportunities, CM Nitish Kumar sanctioned the establishment of 140 positions for the Bihar Higher Judicial Service. Furthermore, the creation of a combined total of 20 Registrar positions on a contractual basis for the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission was also endorsed.
