“Reasi Bus Terror Attack: Nine Victims Identified, Including Four from Rajasthan and Three from U.P.”

The nine victims of the horrific terrorist attack on a bus transporting pilgrims in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir have been identified by the authorities. Among them are four individuals from Rajasthan, including a two-year-old boy, and three from Uttar Pradesh. Currently, there are ten individuals with gunshot wounds receiving treatment in three hospitals across Jammu and Reasi districts, out of the 41 pilgrims primarily from Uttar Pradesh. The attack took place on Sunday at approximately 6.10 pm when terrorists opened fire on the bus, resulting in the tragic loss of nine lives and several injuries.

The bus, which had 53 seats, was traveling from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra when it veered off the road due to gunfire and fell into a deep gorge near the Teryath village in the Poni area.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishesh Paul Mahajan, all nine victims, including the bus driver and conductor, have been identified. The driver, Vijay Kumar, was from Dasanoo Rajbagh village, while the conductor, Arun Kumar, was from Kandera village in Katra, both located in the Reasi district.

The remaining victims are Rajinder Prasad Pandey Sawhney, Mamta Sawhney, Pooja Sawhney, and her two-year-old son Titu Sawhney, all residents of Jaipur in Rajasthan. Additionally, Shivam Gupta, Ruby, and 14-year-old Anurag Verma are from Uttar Pradesh.

Mahajan stated that the district administration is arranging for the bodies to be sent to their respective states.

He also mentioned that 41 individuals, ranging in age from three to 50, were injured in the attack. Out of these, 10 individuals sustained gunshot injuries and are in stable condition after undergoing surgeries.

Mahajan further informed that 18 injured individuals are receiving treatment at the Government Medical College in Jammu, 14 at Narayana Hospital, and nine at the district hospital in Reasi. Among the injured, 34 are from Uttar Pradesh, five are from Delhi, and two are from Rajasthan, according to officials.
