Actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Kangana Ranaut’s Sister Rangoli React to Slap Incident: ‘Isn’t Just About One Individual, But…’

Kangana Ranaut, the recently elected BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency, made headlines yesterday after being slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official at Chandigarh airport. The accused woman constable, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, expressed strong objections to Kangana’s controversial statements during the 2020 farmers’ protest. Kaur has been suspended, and a senior CISF officer mentioned that they are working on filing an FIR against the lady constable, as per PTI reports. Actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee, known for her role in the popular TV show Saath Nibhana Saathiya, has voiced her support for Kangana.

She stated that such actions indicate a serious breach of public trust and security protocols. Bhattacharjee emphasized that an officer on duty should never let personal grudges interfere with professional responsibilities. She further added that endorsing the actions of the CISF officer would be condoning a crime and promoting unnecessary animosity. It is essential to denounce this behavior and ensure that those in positions of authority are held accountable. Bhattacharjee urged everyone to imagine how they would feel if a similar incident occurred to their loved ones. This issue goes beyond one individual and highlights the standards of behavior we expect from those responsible for our safety. Let us advocate for justice, fairness, and a system where personal biases have no place in our security forces.

Kangana expressed her criticism towards Bollywood on Instagram, referring to them as the “Rafah Gang” and warning that such attacks could happen to anyone, including their children. In addition to Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel also shared stories on Instagram, highlighting the alleged involvement of Khalistanis in the farmers’ protest and emphasizing her sister’s resilience. Rangoli called for serious action to address the security threat and expressed her belief that suspending the person responsible would not be enough. Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh, who was running against Kangana in Mandi, deemed the incident unfortunate and called for accountability for the security personnel involved. He emphasized the importance of preventing such incidents, especially against women, and mentioned that the security person had grievances related to the farmers’ protest.

Kangana’s statement on the incident

Kangana recounted the incident at Chandigarh airport, stating that during the security check, she was slapped by a CISF personnel who allegedly supported the farmers’ protest. The BJP leader released a statement addressing the situation, confirming her well-being and providing a detailed account of what transpired.

“I have been receiving numerous phone calls from both the media and my supporters. Firstly, I want to assure everyone that I am unharmed and in good health,” she stated. “Upon completing the security check, a female CISF staff member from the second cabin approached me, struck me on the face, and proceeded to verbally abuse me. When I questioned her actions, she mentioned her support for the farmers’ protest,” the newly elected MP revealed. “While I am physically unharmed, I am deeply troubled by the rise of terrorism and extremism in Punjab,” she concluded.
