Shivani Agarwal, the mother of the 17-year-old boy involved in a Porsche car crash in Pune, provided her blood sample which was switched with her son’s at Sassoon General Hospital in the city, as per information from the police.
Dr. Shrihari Halnor, who is accused of tampering with the blood sample of the teenage driver, along with his staff, was the one who collected the blood sample, sources mentioned.
Agarwal was present during the testing at the hospital and has been missing since the arrest of Dr. Halnor and Dr. Ajay Tawade, who is accused of swapping the blood sample of the teenager, police sources stated. They also mentioned that efforts are being made by the police to locate her.
The teenager, whose father is a builder in the city, consumed alcohol at a restaurant and club before driving the Porsche at a high speed and colliding with a bike on May 19, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals.
The absence of alcohol in the initial blood sample, as indicated by the report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), gave rise to doubts. Subsequently, a separate hospital conducted a second blood test and DNA analysis, which conclusively established that the samples belonged to two distinct individuals.
As a result, investigators began to harbor suspicions that the doctors at Sassoon General Hospital had manipulated the evidence in order to shield the accused juvenile.
