According to recent reports, WhatsApp is in the process of introducing a revamped interface for its Web client, featuring a sidebar for quick navigation and a dark mode. This update, which was initially announced last year, seems to be gradually rolling out to select users who are part of the platform’s beta program. While not all beta testers have access to the new interface yet, it appears that WhatsApp is conducting a limited test at the moment. The redesigned sidebar organizes various sections of the platform, including Chats, Communities, Status Updates, Channels, Archived Chats, Starred Messages, and Broadcasted messages, providing users with improved navigation and accessibility.
Screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp update tracker, showcase the new layout, which also incorporates a dark mode option for better readability. Notably, this update comes shortly after the introduction of Meta AI chatbot on WhatsApp in India, signaling Meta’s ongoing efforts to enhance the platform’s features. Additionally, previous reports hinted at WhatsApp working on a link privacy feature, offering users the ability to disable link previews to safeguard their chat privacy. As the rollout of the new interface progresses among beta testers, it is expected to become available to all users in the coming weeks, further enriching the WhatsApp Web experience.
