“Potential Launch of Sony PS5 Pro: Major Spec Upgrade Expected in Coming Months”

According to information obtained from leaked documents by the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead, Sony is reportedly in the works of developing the PS5 Pro, an upgraded version of its popular gaming console. The revelation follows previous reports from Insider Gaming indicating Sony’s ongoing efforts in creating a new gaming system. It is anticipated that the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro will make its debut on the global market during the holiday season of 2024. Details from the leaked documents, as reported by Mashable India, suggest that the release of the new console is imminent, with speculations indicating a potential arrival later this year. Furthermore, the leaked information hints at key specifications of the upcoming device.

According to insights from Insider Gaming, the PS5 Pro is expected to feature enhanced 4K resolution capabilities along with a performance mode catering to 8K resolution. Additional improvements may include accelerated ray tracing and the introduction of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an in-house machine learning solution designed to enhance image production. Reports also suggest that Sony may upgrade the AMD Radeon RX 6700 to a configuration resembling the Radeon RX 7800 XT, resulting in significantly improved performance compared to its predecessor. Speculations indicate that the PS5 Pro could boast a 45% increase in speed over the PS5 Standard, with an estimated 16-bit floating-point calculation capability of 67 TFLOPs, translating to approximately 33.5 TFLOPs of FP32 computing performance.

Insider information from Henderson suggests that Sony’s first-party studios have been conducting tests since September, potentially paving the way for a launch around November or December 2024.
