The Sunrisers Hyderabad have officially appointed Pat Cummins as their new captain for the upcoming IPL 2024 season, taking over from Aiden Markram.
Having led Australia to victory in the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup 2023, Cummins was acquired for 20.5 crore rupees in the IPL 2024 auction, becoming the second most expensive player in the tournament’s history.
This announcement follows a report by IndiaToday.in that Cummins would be replacing Markram as the team’s skipper in the upcoming season.
Looking forward to his debut with SRH, Cummins expressed his fondness for India, referring to it as a second home due to the time spent in the country.
