“Bengaluru Cafe Blast: Unmasking the Culprit – IED Bomber Caught on CCTV”

At least ten individuals were injured in a bomb explosion that took place at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru on Friday afternoon. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has confirmed that the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED). He further stated that a man entered the cafe and placed a bag containing the explosive device inside. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has revealed that the suspect has been identified through CCTV footage. According to him, the accused is believed to be between 28 and 30 years old. The suspect had taken a coupon for Rava Idli at the cafe but left without consuming anything. The Deputy Chief Minister added that the suspect left behind his bag, which allegedly contained the IED.

Sources have informed the Chief Minister that apart from the explosive device found in the bag, no additional improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were discovered on the premises, according to the police. The Chief Minister, Siddarmaiah, stated that the individual who placed the bag in the cafe took a token from the cash counter. The cashier is currently being interrogated. When asked if this was a terrorist act, the Chief Minister responded that it is still unknown and investigations are ongoing, as reported by news agency PTI.

The Chief Minister further explained that the blast was not a large-scale explosion but rather an improvised explosive blast. While similar incidents have occurred in the past, it is crucial to prevent their recurrence. The Chief Minister emphasized that apart from the incident in Mangaluru during the BJP rule, such blasts have not occurred recently. This incident marks the first of its kind during our government’s tenure.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the staff members and customer are not critical, as confirmed by the Chief Minister. The individuals injured in the blast have been identified as Farooq, a 19-year-old hotel staff member, Deepanshu (23) who works for Amazon, Swarnamba (49), Mohan (41), Nagashree (35), Momi (30), Balaram Krishnan (31), Navya (25), and Srinivas (67).

In connection with the blast, a case has been registered at the HAL Police Station in Bengaluru under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substances Act.

CCTV footage obtained by India Today reveals the exact moment when the explosion occurred at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru. Prior to the blast, servers were seen bustling around the counter, but as the explosion took place, the camera screen turned white due to the immense smoke that engulfed the area. Post-blast visuals captured individuals fleeing from the cafe, their clothes torn and injuries apparent. Following the incident, a team comprising of police, firefighters, forensics experts, and a bomb disposal squad swiftly assembled at the scene. As the police commence their investigation into the explosion, the surrounding area has been cordoned off for security purposes.
