Nothing is set to debut its most budget-friendly smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a, in India on March 5. Anticipation mounts as the company recently unveiled the design for its upcoming third smartphone in a teaser ahead of the launch. The CGI video showcases the white variant of the Nothing Phone 2A, confirming its signature transparent design with a glyph interface. This dispels any speculation that the company would forgo this distinctive feature for the Phone 2A. Additionally, the back of the phone boasts two camera sensors resembling eyes, reminiscent of futuristic robots seen in Pixar’s films.
Aside from its design, Nothing has previously confirmed that the phone will be equipped with the custom-designed MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, promising impressive performance. The AnTuTu benchmark score of over 741,000 for the Dimensity-powered device adds to the anticipation. Furthermore, the phone is set to offer up to 12GB of RAM, with the option to expand its RAM by an additional 8GB through Nothing’s RAM boost feature.
As the launch approaches, leaks suggest that more details about the Nothing Phone 2a will be revealed. It is rumored to be available in two color options: grey/black and white, aligning with Nothing’s tradition of offering both lighter and darker hues for its devices. However, the Phone 2a may not support wireless charging, according to leaks.
While specific details about the display remain uncertain, renderings suggest that the Phone 2a will feature minimal bezels, in line with Nothing’s commitment to sleek design. The power and volume buttons are expected to offer visual contrast, with the teaser showcasing the black button on the white variant.
In terms of software, the Phone 2a is likely to run on Nothing OS 2.5, based on Android 14, offering a user-friendly experience with updates available for three years post-purchase. The phone will be available in two variants: one with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage, priced at approximately Rs 34,000, and another with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage, priced at around Rs 39,999.
In addition to the smartphone, Nothing is gearing up to launch two new products in India: the CMF Buds and the CMF Neckband Pro. Although limited information is available about these products, leaks suggest they may feature innovative capabilities to meet diverse consumer needs.
Further details about the Nothing Phone 2a are expected to be unveiled during the MWC 2024 event.
