“reMarkable Launches E-Ink Tablet and Accessories in Indian Market”

reMarkable, the company known for making e-ink tablets, has officially entered the Indian market with its reMarkable 2 tablet and accessories. Products from the company will be available to Indian users on Amazon.

“reMarkable combines the best of paper and technology into hardware and software that helps you think better. We’re dedicated to listening to our millions of customers to create tailored experiences that ensure the best possible workflows,” said Mats Herding Solberg, chief design officer and head of product management at reMarkable, in a press statement.

The company seeks to solve two problems — one being the amount of distractions that are thrown at users by their digital devices and another being the fact that digital devices are poor replacements for the experience of physically writing with a pen and paper.

reMarkable 2, the company’s second-generation e-ink tablet is available on Amazon India at a starting price of Rs 43,999. The tablet launched in the United States back in 2020 features a 10.3-inch HD e-ink display that lets users take notes with the Marker Plus, a stylus that also doubles as an eraser.

The reMarkable 2 is powered by a dual core processor and comes with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. Apart from using as a notebook with the Marker Plus, it can also be attached to the company’s Type Folio to use like a laptop. The Type Folio costs Rs 19,499.
The tablet runs on Codex, a Linux-based operating system and can be used to access cloud-based mobile and desktop apps by connecting the tablet to a Wi-Fi network. It has a USB-C port and an integrated 3,000 mAh. The tablet can last up to two weeks on a single charge, according to the company’s claims. It also comes with a one-year Connect subscription from the company.
