“Emergency”-Kangana Ranaut is ready to reveal the untold story behind ‘India’s darkest hour’, Announced Release Date!

Ranaut, the writer and director of the film, showcases the actor portraying the character of former prime minister Indira Gandhi.

On Tuesday, the makers of the film announced that Kangana Ranaut’s latest movie, “Emergency,” will be released in theaters on June 14. Ranaut, who also wrote and directed the film, expressed her excitement about the project, calling it her most ambitious endeavor after “Manikarnika.”

She emphasized that the movie brings together the best of Indian and international talent for a grand period drama with a significant budget. Originally scheduled for release on November 24, 2023, the film was postponed due to changes in Ranaut’s schedule. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, “Emergency” is set to depict one of the most controversial events in the history of Indian Democracy.

The official logline highlights the central figure of the film, former prime minister Indira Gandhi, who is regarded as one of the most sensational leaders of all time. Alongside Ranaut, the movie also features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik. Ritesh Shah, known for his work on “Pink,” has written the screenplay and dialogues for the film.
