Top government sources in New Delhi have reprimanded Pakistan, asserting that Pakistan has no legitimate role in the construction of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. The officials accused Islamabad of trying to incite Indian Muslims on a day when the entire country was united in celebrations. They emphasized that India’s judiciary is not compromised, implying that Pakistan’s legal system is influenced by its spy agency, the ISI.
Officials from the foreign ministry highlighted the extensive legal proceedings that preceded the temple construction, emphasizing that the Indian Supreme Court had thoroughly examined the matter. They pointed out that the court had granted the disputed land in Ayodhya to deity Ram Lalla and instructed the allocation of a five-acre plot for a mosque to Muslims in November 2019.
The officials argued that Pakistan’s condemnation aimed to create unrest by provoking Indian Muslims participating in Ayodhya’s celebrations. They reiterated that India embraces religious diversity and urged Pakistan to protect Hindu places of worship, citing recent attacks on temples.
India responded firmly to Pakistan’s criticism of the “construction and consecration” of the Ram Temple on the site of the demolished Babri Mosque, which was destroyed by a mob on December 6, 1992. India also expressed disapproval of Pakistan’s judiciary for objecting to the temple’s construction on the disputed site. India promptly dismissed Pakistan’s statements and asserted that the temple construction followed a fair and decades-long judicial review process.
