Vivek Ramaswamy withdraws from the US Presidential race following Donald Trump’s victory in the Iowa Caucus.

Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has chosen to halt his 2024 US Presidential bid. The 38-year-old businessperson declared this decision on Tuesday following the victory of former US President Donald Trump in the Iowa caucus. The biotech entrepreneur expressed that he is concluding his campaign for the Republican nomination due to a disappointing outcome in Iowa’s initial caucuses. Ramaswamy conveyed his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “This entire campaign revolves around conveying the TRUTH. Unfortunately, we did not accomplish our objective tonight, and we require a patriot who prioritizes America in the White House. The people have made their desires abundantly clear. Tonight, I am suspending my campaign and endorsing Donald J. Trump. I will exert all efforts to ensure his success as the next U.S. President. I take immense pride in my team, this movement, and our nation.”

Ramaswamy has officially given his endorsement to his rival, Trump, pledging his unwavering support even in the event of Trump being convicted of felonies. Trump has emerged victorious in the initial 2024 Republican Presidential contest held in Iowa on Monday.
According to CNN’s projections, Trump is leading in the Iowa caucuses. Following closely behind is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in second place, with South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley securing the third position. Trump has garnered more than 55,000 votes, while DeSantis and Haley have received over 23,000 and 20,000 votes respectively. Ramaswamy, on the other hand, finds himself in fourth place with just over 8,000 votes.
