A special task force from the Uttar Pradesh police will assume complete responsibility for securing the upcoming Ram temple complex in Ayodhya, replacing the CRPF, which had been guarding the site under the Supreme Court’s directives. According to a senior government official, the CRPF had been deployed at the Ram Janambhoomi site following the demolition of the Babri structure in 1992 as per the Supreme Court’s orders. With the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol scheduled for January 22, the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (SSF) will take over and provide comprehensive security coverage for the temple.
In an administrative move, the Uttar Pradesh police’s special task force will assume full responsibility for overseeing the security measures at the upcoming Ram temple complex in Ayodhya. This transfer of responsibility will replace the CRPF, which had been safeguarding the site under the explicit instructions of the Supreme Court.
A high-ranking government official highlighted that the deployment of the CRPF at the Ram Janambhoomi site was a result of the Supreme Court’s directive post the demolition of the Babri structure in 1992. With the ‘pran pratishtha,’ or consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol scheduled for January 22, the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (SSF) will commence providing comprehensive security coverage at the temple site.
