Today, the PM will inaugurate a new terminal building at Tiruchirappalli Airport in Tamil Nadu !

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday to inaugurate the New Terminal Building at Tiruchirappalli International Airport. Additionally, he will be visiting Kerala and Lakshadweep to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for numerous developmental projects.

The comprehensive list of initiatives, valued at over Rs 19,850 crore, covers various sectors including aviation, rail, road, oil and gas, shipping, and higher education. During his time in Tamil Nadu, he will also preside over the 38th Convocation Ceremony of Bharathidasan University.

In Kerala, Prime Minister Modi has a schedule to dedicate and lay the foundation stones for significant projects. This includes the inauguration of the indigenously developed Demonstration Fast Reactor Fuel Reprocessing Plant (DFRP) at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.

The Prime Minister’s visit to Lakshadweep is focused on addressing the region’s internet connectivity challenges. He will inaugurate the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI – SOFC) project, which will result in a significant increase in internet speed, from 1.7 Gbps to 200 Gbps. This marks the first time that Lakshadweep will be connected through Submarine Optic Fibre Cable.

Furthermore, in Lakshadweep, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the renovation of a Primary Health Care facility in Kalpeni and the construction of model Anganwadi Centres (Nand Ghars) across five islands—Androth, Chetlat, Kadmat, Agatti, and Minicoy.
