“9 Pilgrims Killed in J&K Bus Tragedy Following Terrorist Attack”

Srinagar: A tragic incident unfolded in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi as a bus carrying pilgrims to the Shiv Khori cave temple was targeted by terrorists, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to 33 others. The bus, unable to withstand the attack, veered off the road and plunged into a gorge.

Confirming the casualties, Vishesh Mahajan, the District Magistrate of Reasi, stated, “Nine pilgrims have lost their lives, and 33 individuals have sustained injuries.”

According to Reasi’s Senior Superintendent Of Police Mohita Sharma, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle amidst the gunfire, leading to the unfortunate accident. The incident has left the entire region in shock and sorrow.

Efforts were swiftly initiated to rescue the victims, and the operation has now been successfully concluded. However, the identities of the passengers have yet to be confirmed. It is worth noting that they are not locals.

The Shiv Khori shrine has been secured, and the area has been thoroughly monitored to ensure the safety of all individuals. The authorities are determined to bring those responsible for this heinous act to justice.

Heart-wrenching visuals from the site depict the scattered bodies along the hillside and the severely damaged bus. The local community has played a crucial role in assisting with the rescue operations, while ambulances have been deployed to provide immediate medical aid.

In response to this distressing incident, the police, army, and paramilitary forces have been deployed to the area to maintain law and order. This attack signifies a significant escalation in violence within the region, as Reasi district has remained relatively unaffected by terrorist activities compared to its neighboring districts of Rajouri and Poonch. The authorities are determined to restore peace and security in the area and prevent any further acts of violence.
