The commemoration of the death anniversary of freedom fighter Abdul Qayyum Ansari was being observed in Gaya district of Bihar. A JDU leader commenced his speech on the stage during the event. In his address, he raised doubts regarding the sanctity of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Suddenly, the entire stage collapsed within moments as soon as he mentioned the Ram Temple. Former Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Ali Anwar Ansari was also seated on the stage at that time and sustained injuries along with other local leaders when the stage collapsed. However, a second stage was subsequently constructed and the program was successfully concluded.
As per the available information, this incident took place in Dihuri village of Atari block. A condolence gathering was organized there last Thursday to mark the 51st death anniversary of freedom fighter Abdul Qayyum Ansari. The stage was set up for the event, and former Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Ali Anwar Ansari, Attri MLA Ajay Yadav alias Ranjit Yadav, and other local leaders were present on the stage. The program commenced as planned.
During his speech on the Ram temple, Netaji’s words were abruptly interrupted as the stage suddenly collapsed with a resounding thud.
Numerous community leaders shared their perspectives during the event. In the midst of this, Ramdev Kevat, the block spokesperson for JDU, was invited to the stage to express his views. Ramdev Kevat commenced his speech by addressing the matter of the Ram temple. He questioned the rationale behind conducting Ramlala’s consecration at the Ram temple on January 22nd, implying that it may be a strategic move to gather votes. If this is not the case, he pondered why the consecration is not scheduled on the auspicious day of Lord Ramchandra ji’s birth.
Ali Anwar, a former member of the Rajya Sabha, sustained injuries:
After Ramdev Kevat uttered these words on the stage, the entire platform collapsed with a loud crash. All individuals present, including former Rajya Sabha MP Ali Anwar Ansari, sustained injuries due to the stage collapse. Nevertheless, a second stage was promptly arranged, and the event proceeded as planned. During this gathering, the Atari MLA encouraged Muslims to embrace their true Muslim identity when exercising their right to vote. In his homage to Abdul Qayyum Ansari, Ali Anwar expressed his genuine concern for the nation’s well-being.
