On Wednesday, an explosion at the pharmaceutical company Escientia in the Andhra Pradesh special economic zone (SEZ) of Atchutapuram claimed four lives and injured nearly twenty more.
The incident happened at lunch, which surprised a lot of the staff.
Images captured on the location showed an ambulance being driven into the business’s building. As grey smoke envelops the scene, people can be seen protecting their noses.
The number of deaths was confirmed by Deepika Patil, the superintendent of police in Anakapalli. She also stated that rescue efforts are still in progress because the structure is still engulfed in smoke and flames.
According to Deepika Patil, the explosion occurred near the reactor site rather than inside the reactor. According to Patil, the blast’s origin is still unknown.
For medical attention, the injured have been moved to a local private hospital and Anakapalli NTR Hospital.
Firefighters and police are among the emergency personnel on the scene.
Ten people have been rescued from the explosion so far, according to a fire officer, and they all suffered injuries.
Following a reactor explosion, efforts are being made to evacuate everyone still inside the facility.
More information is anticipated.
